09/16/2019 09:51PM Fourtown heading into Horse is a nice spot, albeit the campsite is in the direct path of a portage... Gotta roll the dice on that one. |

09/14/2019 12:36AM I know you can hear waterfalls from campsites in the middle to northern section of Phoebe Lake. |

09/13/2019 07:15AM I avoid campsite near falls and rapids if I can. The never-ending background noise is maddening. |

09/13/2019 06:45AM The falls at the east end of Medicine Hat in WCPP was nice "white noise", but then it was only a trickle when I was there. From pictures by others, it looks like it can really roar. To me, that's the key. If it roars, it's going to be kinda like Chinese torture after a while. On the SHT, the lower campsite by the Devil Track river has nice white noise too. No falls, really. More like rapids 'cuz its only a few feet drop over 20 yards or so. |

09/12/2019 07:23PM Had the pleasure of sleeping next to a creek on the last trip. Was a nice calming noise to sleep to. Would do again :) |

09/12/2019 06:51PM A SAR acquaintance in WA once found a cozy spot in the middle of the night on a downed tree alongside a river that runs off Rainier. However, dawn's early light revealed that he had actually been snoozing above the water. |

09/12/2019 03:35PM The nice thing about constantly running rapids and falls is that one is more likely to awaken during the night to check out the possibility of northern lights... |

09/12/2019 01:59PM In the Q, there is a nice spot right next to the falls/rapids between Beg and Bud Lakes. |

09/12/2019 09:33AM On South Arm Knife there’s a site real close the Eddy Falls, the sites at all of the falls along the Basswood River are great. I especially like the one at the top of LBF. The site around the corner from Curtain Falls is a little further away, but you can hear the Falls nicely in the background. It’s also on a point with nice fishing and usually a breeze. Tony |

09/12/2019 09:27AM Campsite 973 on Vernon Lake from Brule has a nice stream with a waterfall in earshot. Also a nice man made sitting pool to enjoy a nice beverage after a long day. It is a nice site also. |

09/12/2019 09:25AM On Agnes, the first site just north of the portage to Oyster has a small creek with a small waterfall (a couple feet) just on the north end. In the open area around the fire grate you don't hear it, but there is one nice tent pad close to the lake in the woods on the north side and the babbling water is clearly audible. Sadly I had already pitched my tent elsewhere but this tent spot would have made for excellent sleeping. |

09/12/2019 09:15AM The site on the Basswood river between Wheelbarrow Falls and Lower Basswood Falls. You get the sound of falls in stereo. |

09/12/2019 09:08AM With a favorable wind, I've had great nights of falling asleep to the sound of rushing water when camped on Malberg and Ogish. On Malberg, you can hear the rapids rushing into the lake from the elevated campsite at the narrows if the wind is from the south. On Ogish, similar situation with the rapids that enter the lake on the southern side about halfway down the lake. Neither of these is a big waterfall, which is actually a good thing - the sound they provide is not dominant all day, but enough to hear when you quiet down at night. |

09/12/2019 07:59AM The site at the north end of Kelly lake has a small river on one side and a small creek on the other. The river has some rapids that can be heard in camp, not overpowering but there. Nice site too, very secluded between people taking the portage. |

09/12/2019 06:38AM One thing to remember about water falls is that they run all day long. And all night long. They never shut off. They might be nice to fall asleep to, but if you wake up in the middle of the night, it can surely be hard to fall back asleep. Or impossible. Ask me how I know. |

09/11/2019 04:03PM Just wondering if there are any campsites that have rapids or waterfalls. Always a great sound to put me to sleep... I know some of the bigger waterfalls can be heard from a distance, but I also like to sit and listen to the water in camp while I wait for others to get ready. The closer, the better! |
