02/12/2021 10:09AMDogpaddle2: "...Day 4- to North Kawishi RIver via rock island land lake 2, confusion lake and then NOrth Kawishiwi River." Good luck making your way to Lake Two via Rock Island. The fire may have obliterated any trace of a portage through there. (It was hard to follow even 20 years ago) Do research and ask questions about it. |

02/12/2021 09:07AM Looking at going late July. I have been on 1, 2, 3 two years ago and the burned area is not pretty but hoping to move through burned area to more scenic and less crowded area. Hoping this summer sees fewer crowds than last summer. |

02/11/2021 09:16PM You'll for sure be away from crowds at the beginning and end. Wildlife likely too. Gabbro and Lake 2 will be busy...what time of year? You'll be in a burned area for your first day and a half or so. Check google maps. You're kind of going from lesser used areas to more used and back out. |

02/11/2021 08:07PM Looking at trip 6-7 days. Start at entry point 34 to quadga lake. Day 2 to Bald Eagle Lke. Day 3to Clear water lake. Day 4- to North Kawishi RIver via rock island land lake 2, confusion lake and then NOrth Kawishiwi River. Day 5- To Little Gabbro lake Day 6 or 7- Little Lake Gabbro to Gabbro Lake to bald eagle lake to snake river and then take out. I got this route from The boundary waters canoe area guide by Robert Beyemer. Hoping to see wildlife, get away from crowds. Any pointers? THe guide does not specify where the take out is. And recommendation of outfitter to shuttle and outfitting? |
