I did it solo some years back, in May, south to north. There is an article I wrote about it in BWJ some years back. I had originally planned to camp on Hustler the night before but ended up going to Posse because of some bear activity on Hustler I wanted to distance myself from. From I believe it took me about 6 hours to make it to Finger. In the moment it was really tough, but looking back, it is one of my fondest trips.
You will have to match the labels to the images as I can't get it to format cleanly. Think of it as a fun game!
It's very rewarding to blaze your own trail and go where few others do, albeit tough tripping.

drmau1: "Can you paddle down the Hustler River out of Finger Lake?"
I recall reading about a couple of parties trying that, and the general consensus was strong regret.

I figured it would be too low in the fall. Might have to revise plans. Don't want to slug through 2 miles of muck! Thanks.

I just did a quick search and I can't seem to find any detailed reports-especially the one I remember reading. I think if you read through several of the reports you can get a good idea of what you'd be getting into. I think, if you're going to do it, that you go in the spring when water levels are high. This year would have seemed like the perfect time to have done it. Last year, no.

The answer is yes. Search the trip reports as there are several people who’ve traveled this route.
