07/19/2022 07:44PM Can vouch for these three: The Marriot Town Suites is convenient. Has kitchenettes and full size fridge. Walk across the parking lot to the Superstore to get last minute groceries. A bit cheaper: Days Inn at Golf Links and Oliver Rd next to the regional hospital doesn’t have kitchen suites so it’s cheaper. Hampton inn at the airport is clean and decent. Grocery store and LCBO (liquor store) in the shopping centre across the street. |

05/23/2022 09:35PM You asked… I got married in Thunder Bay and we stayed at the Price Arthur Downtown. It’s a pretty historic hotel and 25 years ago was still not a bad place. Now, well, downtown ain’t quite what it used to be and I stopped in last fall to get a look around and there was a security guard at the door. Our new fun place to stay is called the Courthouse hotel a half mile from downtown. It was the Thunder Bay Court House for many years and was turned into a hotel. It’s a cool historic building and the rooms are nice and the price is fair. I stayed at a seedy motel on the NE side of town several years ago for work and it’s the only motel in my life that I stayed in my clothe when I went to bed. My boss wanted me to try something different and they booked it for me. We had words when I got back to the states. It you just looking for a bed, the hotels by the airport are fine. Tom |

05/23/2022 09:10PM Anybody have any suggestions for decent lodging in Thunder Bay? We'll be coming from the east and will need one night of lodging before going into Quetico. Thanks... |
