Can someone please give me an indication of where the island is on McKenzie that has human remains on it (or at least did years ago)?

Petey,

It's been a long time since your post, but I was poking around and found this blog that makes mention of a gravesite . . .

Boreal Blog

And I remembered someone had asked about it on BWCA. If you're still interested, maybe you could contact the author for information.

(Also, you might consider posting the question on QuietJourney.com.)

the fire in the Falls Chain area revealed many old native grave sites as the reserve was in Kawa Bay. i found a rock pile on Agnes lake that was too far up hill and back from the lake side to be a fire place,it was a heap with no place where a fire would have been made inside.i took a few photos and left it alone.there were also no other signs that it could have been a camp at one time as the red pine forest around it was untouched by a ax.i have found old camps in back bays and there always seems to be a sawed off branch or small stump.
