Are any of you guys into audiobooks? I just spent the last couple months having my first book (set in the BWCA), Fugitives from Northwoods, made into an audiobook. It was a truly amazing process, listening and approving it in little 10 minutes pieces, chapter by chapter.
A few people have asked why I didn't narrate it myself. As soon as I heard the first minute of the narration, that gave me the reason why. These voice pros are true actors. My guy, Eddie Frierson, is the national voice of the PETCO petstore chain. And he's done a ton of voiceover work in Hollywood, and dozens of other audiobooks. I'm amazed with his abilities, and my good fortune in hooking up with him.
It's an 8 hour narration, so perfect for long drives or daily commutes to work. Or just around the house, maybe out in the workshop.
If you're interested in listening and willing to leave a quick review, I can give you a code for a free download from the Audible site. Just shoot me a message. There's a five minute sample on Audible, here:
audible website It's also available on Amazon and iTunes.
Thanks!
