Doing some “excavating” in the basement today and found two bear vaults that still have food from my last canoe trip, spring 2017.

Wonder if any of it is still good?

Cinnamon fire jolly ranchers, Kind gluten free snack bars, fig newtons, fruit snacks. Haven’t gotten the other one open yet.

Doesn’t smell bad

Other vault has uncle bens rice, Tyson white chicken chunks, squeeze strawberry jelly, unopened, Luna bars, oatmeal packets…

Geez, we must not have eaten much on that trip!

Saw your For Sale posting and was pleased to see that you cleaned them out... :-)

I store food in there for the next trip, but when it starts ssmelling funky I might toss them. I've had dehydrated meals go bad but pancake mix still good.

They are a good place to store dog treats.

Here is what I tell my wife: "Oh, that stuff lasts forever". That works occasionally.
