I've been checking the Kawishiwi USGS gages and it seems we're around 12-13C right now (~55F). Some lakes will be warmer, some colder, depending on elevation, depth, etc. I'm headed to the Gunflint side this weekend and I expect the water to be on the cooler side there due to the lakes being deep and late to ice out. We'll find out soon enough! Hoping for some shallow casting for lakers :)

Pinetree: "JD: "My buddy is on Basswood right now and says the water is around 57F."Thanks, is he catching anything? My nephew is on Crooked right now."
He said it hasn't been hot and heavy, but the weather has been back and forth. A couple nice walleye and smallies, with a 22" smallie in the group. He said they've heard from others that topwater is on now, but I'm guessing it's hit or miss depending on the right bay at the right time of day. 57F is still pretty cold for topwater.

Thanks for the update
Good topwater starts at about 60 degrees usually after that has been that way for a few days.
