Northwoodsman: "I wonder why Ursack decided to remove the Velcro inner enclosure in the AllMitey. I just sold my original AllMitey's last week and I thought that this was the best feature of the original models. That sealed the AllMitey up TIGHT, nothing was getting in. A mouse can fit through an opening the size of a your small finger. I have been going to the BWCA since 1980 and I have never had a bear in my campsite (that I knew about) but I'm sure I have hundreds of mice in camp because I've seen many of them and chased many of them away from my food. Another nice thing with the Velcro is that if you were lounging in camp or cooking dinner etc. you could secure your food to keep the little critters outs without having to tie it off.
Thanks for posting this boonie because they didn't even advertise it on their website. I hope some people were able to take advantage of the sale."
Last year someone posted that they contacted Ursack about this, and the reply was:
"You actually do not have a defective bag. We found that when used correctly the drawstring enclosure works just fine. We decided in an attempt to cut some more weight, and manufacturing time we would try out the new model this year to see how it is received by users. If customer experience is not ideal, we will likely go back to the Velcro models."
