I was fishing on Fred and caught a pike with an eel attached. I met another guy and he said that he and his son had caught two with eels. I am not an eel expert so I can't say for sure that they were Lampreys but the one I caught sure looked like the ones that I have seen in pictures.

I wonder how prevalent eels are in the park. Have you caught fish with eels in Q? Recently or a long time ago? If they are Lampreys I wonder how they got there.

Those were not eels. They were lampreys, probably the native Silver Lamprey.

I've caught fish with Lampreys on them. Cairn Lake, to name one.

Yes Cairn is known for its Silver Lampreys. Especially on northern pike.

Interesting. I caught a pike with one on Sturgeon Lake...didn't know how common they were. The mouths on those things are the stuff of nightmares.
