AdamXChicago,
Fish grip worked GREAT...once it was on the jaw. The problem was, the fish REFUSED to open its giant toothy maw for a while. But it was very handy and was good for helping to revive the fish as well. The gripper definitely holds up to use and abuse in a pack etc. It seemed to be pretty solidly built. I beleive there are several available for sale at the various outdoors stores, shop around if you're interested in them to find one that is built well, I've heard they're not all equal.
msray53,
Mrs. Chief is jealous that Chief and I are going again this year because she is staying home with the baby. The girl I brought and I are no longer dating so no more tripping for her. Mrs. Chief and baby are probably going to come next year on a BWCA trip.
Glad everyone liked the report.

The fishing report was sort of all over the place, but I can fill in a lot of gaps that I realized I didn't mention in the report:
Trolling for lakers on Louisa we used Deep diving tail dancers, wally divers, flutter spoons, a big bleeding eye spoon, a big flatfish, swim baits, swimming jigs and even a gulp leech. We also tried jigging for them to no avail. We could see them on the depth finders, but they didn't really want to cooperate.
Mrs. Chief caught all of her fish on a wally diver.
The northern was caught on a lindy rig with a gulp leech.
I caught small mouth on lindy rigs with gulp and jointed shad raps.
Casting from shore on our island on Louisa we didn't catch ANYTHING, which I found strange, usually the smallmouth hang out in that type of structure.

Fun report! Go Grand Slam Mrs Chief!!! Yes, you sure do learn a lot about people on a BW trip... and yourself too. Loved the stories, thanks.
