Seen a cow moose and two calves swimming across Heronshaw lake once.
My flyin trip in the Quetico forum has a 10 minute video of the Heronshaw area that GadgetMan and Chms did.
The stretch of stream between Baird and Cub is about as gorgeous as it gets.
You will never have trouble with this route. It was perfectly navigable even in the drought years.
I passed through Fred, Camel, Cub, and Baird about a month ago. Did not go through Heronshaw, down through Cutty instead.
Water levels were high but no problems beyond wet and slippery portages.
Has anyone been through this route so far this year? It should be a good year for it since the water table is high.
