The trails tilled up pretty well. What was a sheet of ice this morning is now a ski trail!

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted.

Where is this photo taken? Is it always groomed like this? -- Would love to check it out this winter.

Thanks!

Camped on Moon many times, always came in from Clearwater.
A rewarding ski bushwack to go from Moon to Ivory, Rocky, Johnson falls and return by pine, Little Caribou, Caribou, Deer. Done that a few times. Frozen falls are interesting.

I think I've seen the portage to Moon packed down a few times over the years. It wouldn't be the most fun portage to pull a sled over but it isn't to long. It might be easiest to park at Clearwater and ski your gear into Moon that way, since that portage is flat and almost always packed. Then you could come up the Moon-Flour portage with out gear.

Had great time camping in my new SnowTrekker Tent last winter at Bear Head State Park... now time to camp in the BWCA. My friends and I love to Nordic ski, so looking for a place to camp where we can ski to the Central Gunflint Ski Trails (Golden Eagle Lodge area)... heard Moon Lake great place to camp.. does it work to take portage to Flour Lake to access the trails ( I know need to pay for ski pass first)... thanks!
