01/28/2019 03:44PM Me and three friends are looking to do our first BWCA trip together (Ages 22-23) and are looking for recommendations on EP and Route. We all enjoy fishing and are aiming to make it to either Crooked or Basswood Lake for a few days. It looks like the obvious choice would be EP 23 and go from there. Couple of questions: How tough is it to secure a reserved a permit for this EP? Any recommendations on specific routes to these lakes? Is there a different EP that we should consider? Which of the two lakes has better Walleye fishing? And, finally, any recommendations for Outfitters? (only looking to rent canoes / paddles) Additional Information: Heading in either Monday, May 20th or Tuesday the 21st. We are all in good shape and have lots of camping & backpacking experience but limited canoeing experience. Prefer to avoid long portages if possible. Any suggestions or additional advice appreciated. Thanks! |
