You could also just get the 'Boundary Waters West" map from Nat Geo. They have 2 maps that cover all of the boundary waters, 1 for east and 1 for west, and actually show all of the portages and campsites. It's nice for trip planning and seeing a larger area on a smaller scale. Here is the link.

Yeah Fisher's F-16 will cover all that route I believe. It doesn't cover all of LLC obviously, but the boulder bay area is on it. It is a great map and the one I use for my trips to that region. Fishers are my map of choice. Although I do like McKenzie and Voyageur maps and usually bring 2 different brands to new areas because none of them are accurate 100% of the time.

MacKenzie maps have the largest scale. But Fisher maps (F16, F23) will have virtually the same amount of information on them, just a bit smaller scale. Voyageur maps (1,2) have a bit smaller scale than the Fisher maps, but cover a larger area... but I believe also have about the same amount of information regarding campsites and portages. An added perk with the Voyageur maps is that they have a fish list for each lake on the back of the map.

I received my McKenzie maps for my LLC trip this year.
It takes three maps to cover the areas I will be traveling or possibly be traveling and a 4th is needed to cover the east side of Iron lake and the west end of crooked.
I currently have:
#14 Loon Lake/Wilkins bay
#12 Moose River
#13 LLC

The plan was to enter at Moose River North and head for Boulder Bay with day trips up into LLC, Iron and Curtain Falls, Gebeonequet, Oyster and surrounding areas.

The Loon Lake map was a 'just because' map as I plan on hitting that side someday as well.

I also have map #11 from last years trip from Mudro up into Crooked but that one stops at Friday bay.

I just looked at the Fisher website for a map covering my entire trip area but was unsure of how much detail it had as it covers a lot of areas.

Any map suggestions for my route this year

Thank in advance,
Bushman
