07/16/2019 12:49PM I would make the Voyageur map my primary one. They are so much better IMHO, even though they’re not “zoomed in” as much. I ran into the same problem on my solo, thinking I needed a McKenzie for the detail, but I was fine with my Voyageur. Plus, the Voyageur has lake depths which is priceless in the field. Have a great trip. Tony |

07/16/2019 08:23AM I would also suggest giving Hiogaards in St. Louis Park a call. They've always had every McKenzie and Fisher map I've needed in stock when I've stopped by there. |

07/16/2019 06:48AMJackfish: "Looks like #21 is the map for the Sawbill area. Have you called Sawbill Outfitters or another outfitter in the area to see if they stock them?" Sawbill used to stock 2 custom MacKenzie maps for the area. Sawbill west and Sawbill east. I would double this recommendation. |

07/15/2019 11:26PM Hello, I usually have no problem finding McKenzie maps at REI in the Twin Cities, but the supplier hasn't been able to restock some maps for awhile. I did pick up a Voyageur map as a backup for the other canoe. However, I usually bring a McKenzie as the primary map because of the better detail. Does anyone have a used McKenzie 21 map I could buy for maybe $10? I would need to pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday, and hopefully near the Plymouth or Golden Valley area. Thanks! |
