11/05/2019 01:06AM The plan is for a base camp so why take a permit from a visitor that does want to travel on from Brule. Also, entry lake only permits are almost always available if your decision to go is made close to entry date. Regular Brule permit quotas fill up on many mid-summer days. |

11/04/2019 11:12PM I noticed the 30F for Lake One doesn’t show up on this site map, but it is still available. I used 30F this past summer for a solo trip. I’m sure the Brule permit is still there, just not listed on this site. Tony |

11/04/2019 09:30PM Just out of curiosity, why not just get a Brule or Sag regular permit and have the flexibility to do whatever strikes your fancy? Same cost right? If you go to South Temperance you are going to want to camp there:) |

11/04/2019 05:31PM Entry point 42 - Brule Lake Only seems to have disappeared from the BWCA Entry Points list and map on this site. It is still on the recreation.gov site. I am wondering if it has been eliminated by the USFS and that maps on this site reflects that change, or it needs to be added back to the list and map on this site. Hoping to figure this out before permit season begins. |

11/04/2019 02:36PM That would be my opinion, too. Hoping for something more substantial. If anyone has used an entry lake only permit and still has the permit the answer might be on it. I will call the USFS folks eventually or maybe one of the outfitters that deals with these regularly. |

11/04/2019 01:10PM In my opinion, yes, you can day trip to other lakes, you just have to stay camped on the lake of your permit. I have never spoken to Rangers about this, but I’m willing to bet if you got stopped by a Ranger while on a different lake you’d be fine. Unless you had a bunch of tents and gear in your canoe. Lol. It is my interpretation that a permit for the BWCA allows you to go anywhere in the BWCA. However, you must enter at your permit location and camp (or not camp) where your permit allows. For example, if you had a day permit, you can go anywhere, you just can’t overnight camp. With a Brule only permit, you can go anywhere you want during the day, but you need to be overnighting on Brule. I like these permits, because they help disperse the campers a little more effectively around some of the larger bodies of water. Tony |

11/04/2019 12:20PM Looking for an answer and I guess I haven't dug deep enough into the regs to find it. If I get an "entry lake only" permit, like Brule lake only or Saganaga only can I do day trips out of that lake on the permit? I am interested in a Brule base camp with day trips to South Temperance, the Cones, Echo, and Vernon. |
