This Rapala lure is guaranteed to catch a Northern. Just troll along the shore and be patient.

Kristin, do you have a trip to the BW planned for this year? If so, which entry point? What are your destination lakes? Do you have an outfitter picked out?

I guess it all depends on what you're fishing for and the time of year. Personally, I enjoy throwing red eye/johnson silver minnow spoons and Mepps Agila inline spinners over the top of submerged weedbeds for pike, topwater plugs (spooks and whopper ploppers) along shorelines for SMB's, Jigging 3" Power Grubs near current/windblown points on a 1/4oz chartreuse jighead for walleyes. AmarilloJim also gave great advice on trolling. Slip bobber rigs with leeches will produce a lot too. Good Luck!

If you want to stick with live bait than you need leaches. I troll or cast crankbaits most of the time up there(husky jerks, deep down husky jerks and taildancers).

Hey guys, I fish all the time but offshore in Florida! Running anywhere from 30-100 miles off the east coast going for wahoo, Mahi, kings, and some bottom fishing. Any tips or must-have tackle for this BWCA fishing? So far when I have come to MN to fish, I whip out a small circle hook, hook some live bait through the nose and I catch fish. Total saltwater angler. Lol. Love some advice making a run to Bass Pro this Sunday or Monday.
