Update from my previous posts: In the last few years, the growing trees have encroached on the view toward Rose Lake. The overlook after you cross the Bridge over the outflow from Duncan has been reduced a lot (maybe half) as the trees you used to look out over are now in the way because of the growth. Still a really good view, but much less of Rose Lake is in sight.

The blow down of a really large tree near the above described overlook is worth seeing as well. Some of the dirt has washed out of the roots that are now open to the air. The large trunk looks like it will remain for many years before being reclaimed by nature.

You can take a trail more or less along each side of the tree and I suggest you take both. The one on the left will take you to an overlook area where we took chairs to relax while there for viewing and lunch. Be cautious there as a deep drop off is here and possibly unsafe for non-supervised children.

The view from the trail up the hill is beginning to be closing up as the growth is changing the overlook dynamics in a negative way if you like seeing unobstructed to the water of Rose Lake.
