Actually this one is not correct unless just changed recently. Last time I was there Forest Road 354 was not plowed. I parked on Co 7 and walked in 4 miles to Kawishiwi Lake."

That could be. I was thinking of lakes where the road meets the water. Certainly worth aphone call before heading out.

You can pull right up to the water at Lake one from a plowed road.
You can pull right up to the water on Snowbank from a plowed road.
You can pull right up to the water on Sawbill from a plowed road.

We’ve got a Winter Camping sub-group here, and one of our members Minnesotian produces a chart with info on winter access points. Check out this thread , be sure to go to the bottom for most current info.

Hi All,
I'm new to the Boundary Waters but have a tradition of winter camping with high school friends that goes back 26 years. We're hoping to do a lake trip in early February in which we snowshoe and pull our gear on sleds. Planning on four or five nights. I've been having a hard time figuring out which, if any, roads in to access points are plowed in the winter and how likely it is that we'd find a plowed parking lot to leave our cars in. Does anyone have a good resource for finding a good February starting point for a trip? Thanks!
Dave
