My son and his friend both found trees for their hammocks on the Little Trout island site. It is more open, but still choices to be had.

We were there a few years ago. Trip report And, having been to the area on other occasions (including last fall) I can say that all the sites will offer hammock hanging trees. But, as mentioned, the trees may not necessarily be in close enough proximity to the fire grate area.

Top of island site, pretty wide open and free of trees.

The site on north shoreline of Ram would have good hanging trees. Also, the two sites on the north shore of little trout would be good. Check out the pics on the map in this website. The island campsite is wide open in the middle, not sure if the trees are good for hanging. I will add some pictures of where we camped.

I stayed at the Northwest site on Little Trout last summer-- it would be a nice little site for a solo hammock. Ram and Little Trout a great lakes!

Great. Thanks for the response!

This will be a new location for me. I will be going in solo in early June

Anyone know if the sites on these lakes have sufficient trees for Hammock camping? I prefer that to the tent if it will work.
