Ogishkemuncie would fit what you're looking for and be doable in your timeframe. Stay at Seagull outfitters and get the tow down Seagull to the end of Three Mile Island to cut out a significant portion of the big paddle. Ogish and surrounding lakes have the fish species you're looking for. Good day trips available to many nearby lakes as well as Agamok Falls (fun for swimming at the bottom of falls), Eddy Falls, Kekekabic hiking trail and other options in the area.

Hey Everyone!

I've been up to the BWCA 4 times out of the Ely side and wanted to look at the gunflint for this Fall - Late Aug, early Sept. I've always gone around that time of year and have had great luck with low bug counts.

I've been reading about various trails and regions like the end of the trail, and would be curious to hear some of your thoughts on suggested paths, outfitters, and otherwise.

I'd be taking some newer, but physically capable, campers with me. I'd like to do some fishing (I like to fish for bass/northern/pan fish). It'd be cool if there were some sights to see when we weren't fishing (hiking or some good areas to paddle? The Kawishiwi was kind of nice for that).

I would envision driving up on like a Wed night, staying at an outfitter, putting-in the next morning, staying 2 days, and then portaging out and traveling back on the 4th day.

This will also be the first time I'm guiding the trip. I've co-led 1 of my other trips.

Thanks in advance!
