11/13/2021 05:29PM Have you done the BWCA in winter? If so, where? The beauty of winter camping in the BWCA is you can go a fairly short distance and still feel pretty isolated. I started off with a couple trips to Eagle Mountain. It’s a great trail in and a fun hike up to the top. Can’t say much for the fishing, but a good destination. I’ve also gone in is Round Lake several times. I’ve camped on Brant and been all alone for a week, day tripped to Gillis or Bat to fish, and gone up to Blue Snow when feeling ambitious. The route into Tuscarora gets a fair amount of traffic, probably due to the pretty reliably cooperative Lakers there. |

11/13/2021 08:11AM Where are you planning to go? BWCA east or west? Or other area altogether? Most of my winter camping is in the UP and northern WI with a only a handful of BWCA trips. |

I’d like to try somewhere new and I’m willing to travel anywhere. I am an experienced winter camper. Thanks! |
