02/22/2022 08:25PM Kind of a long portage out of Cummings, but Big Moose Lake has 3 or 4 beach areas. The beach at the start of the portage from Big Moose to Duck Lake is a nice one. |

02/20/2022 02:22PM Not a campsite but, there is a small sugar sand beach at the Buck lake end of the portage in from Cummings. Also, I'll second Site #312 on Crab. Not necessarily a sand beach but, would be a good spot for swimming/playing in the water. |

02/19/2022 11:05PM Awesome! Thanks for the info. We are definitely thinking of making it up to Cummings after a night on Crab. I’ve read of a couple good swimming spots on Crab and I will definitely check out the sites you mentioned on Cummings. I’m also excited to fish the area. Glad to hear that we won’t have to “swamp tromp” as much as last year. Thanks again YJ! Tony |

02/19/2022 08:49PM Hi Tony, Enjoyed your youtube video of the family trip to Bootleg...left a comment too! I really like the Crab Lake entry - not a lot of traffic and easy to get away from the crowds. It seems like Cummings had two campgrounds with some sandy beaches - 292 and 286. I haven't been to all of the sites but those two options would be fun for family swimming, I think. Paddling through the rivers from Little Crab to Lunetta, Little Crab to Korb, and Korb to Cummings (if you go that route) will be much nicer than your swamp tromp last year! And you should have a ton of fun with smallies on Cummings! |

02/19/2022 04:37PM Hi Everyone. Thanks in advance for any input. I’m thinking about taking the family (wife and 3 kids) in via EP 4 (new EP to us) and I’m curious if anyone knows of any good swimming/sandy beach areas in the Cummings/Crab area. My family just wants to return to the great sandy beach site we had on Bootleg Lake last year, but I’d like to explore somewhere new. I did some quick research via campsite review and sandy beach searches, but I’m looking for more. A sandy beach site would be awesome, but not a requirement. If there are sandy beaches anywhere in the area, we could paddle to them and play. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Tony |
