Looking forward to hearing how it goes! We loved Lynx lake, and Heritage is an under appreciated lake. Really pretty.

Campsite # 66 on Lynx is the bomb! My favorite site in the BWCA so far!

Safe and pleasant travels!

Enjoy your time up there in the backcountry! That Shell portage is long but do-able. Take it slow if you have to :) With water levels being a bit higher, you might have slightly shorter portage walks. Hope the fishing is good for you -- I'm going to get up there soon myself so I'm envious of your trip. Tight lines.

Lynx is probably in my top 5 lakes in the BWCA. Beautiful lake and fantastic fishing.

Heading up tomorrow morning early to spend the night at Jeanette Lake campground. Short drive to the LIS 14 entry point and our planned trip up towards Shell and Lynx Lakes, maybe Heritage. Weather looks amazing although I suppose it could change by the latter days of the trip. Got an In Reach message from Joe today on Lynx Lake saying that the water is high, the bugs are horrible and the fishing is good.

Not looking forward to the bug onslaught, we go this time of year to avoid this and have for the most part. Sounds like our luck has run out.

We are usually easy in and basecampers and though this is not a difficult trip I am a little concerned about the long Shell Lake portage. My spirit is willing but my flesh just isn't what it used to be. Oh well, guess we will make the best of it. Might be a long slow portage but as long as we get to the end I guess that's what counts.

New area for us, super excited. Not sure what to think about this perfect weather forecast...obviously the latter days could change but it's almost a little too warm with temps of 78 to 80. Might just have to jump in the coolish:) water after a few days to refresh.

Just for good measure when we come out on Tuesday we will be heading to Birch Lake campground for two more nights of car camping and relaxing. We really like camping before and after a BWCA trip to transition in and out.

Most likely do a trip report upon my return, think it could be a dandy trip.
