05/25/2017 11:02AM Great report with the girls. My little girl is 3 and I am so hoping to get her out around the lakes where we live this summer. It is also fun to see comparison photos that the others have posted of the same area. |

Here's what it looked like in July of this year:  Looks like the level was somewhere between the levels shown in your two photos. As I mentioned in the trip report there were quality fish nearby, but we never bumped a fish on that point. |

10/09/2011 05:55AM Sobi: First light is a great time to be on the water, and up there the dusk/dawn hours last much longer than down here! Interestingly, the girls had never met prior to this trip even though their dads had fished together for a couple of decades. Wallidave: Yes, the climb from the boat landing to the tent pads on that site was memorable! The rocky point at the boat landing in your photograph looked really "fishy" to me, but I never got a bump there, nor saw any fish around the rocks, etc. Maybe it was the time of year? There were plenty of fish in the area. |

10/08/2011 07:53PM Very nice report and photos...fun to read about an area I'm famaliar with. Your site on Saganagons is one of our favorites...but the trip up and down that hill can get old:) Have also had shorelunch several times on the Fran site another great spot. Thanks for sharing. Dave

10/07/2011 04:35PM Wonderful report Ralph! I truly enjoyed your story and pictures. When my daughter was growing up, we had a tradition of going fishing together on my birthday every year. Now she's married and moved away. I really miss sharing the outdoors with her. I hope someday to lure her on a trip to canoe country. And congrats on winning the fishing contest. You folks did very well. |

10/05/2011 02:59PM Extremely enjoyable read and wonderful pix. Your story has a little different flavor which really aids in smooth digestion. The character mix must have been just about right even though you didn't get into that very much. Were the girls already good friends built off of the dad's long standing relationship? The early morning fly rod excursion rubbed the trip in perfectly. I just love being out pre-dawn while my wife and 4 kids are sound asleep. Is there a more magical time?! |

Myers for very long she might have read stuff by one of our group, Byron Stout was the outdoor writer for the Ft. Myers News-Press for 20 years until he retired last year. He still does a weekly fishing report for them. |

10/03/2011 07:36AM That will be a great memory for years to come. My daughter won't trip it but my son and I have gone on three trips so far. I think it's great for the kids to get into the outdoors and enjoy fishing, canoeing and the discussions around a camp fire. I hope you make more trips with your daughter. |
