11/29/2012 06:53PM The Stove is Kni-Co Packer stove. I put a titanium baffle to prevent a direct shot up the flue no spark arrestor or dampner in the flue. I will not allow paper to be put in the stove and prefer Cedar or Black Spruce for burning. Because the stove pipe is long it is quite cool as it leaves the top of the tent. |

10/02/2012 08:37PM Weighed it all 5.75 lbs tent in stuff sack (Ø7.5" x 12"Long) with guy outs.snow anchor bags for all add 3 lbs for poles and pins for drying cords and light attachments to center pole. The stove and 10' of stove pipe comes in at 13.8 lbs Will most Likely sew another first with a friend in mind to see how much time is involved. It has been nearly 8 years since I made this; if Kevin Carr's recollection is correct on its maiden trip. |

10/02/2012 09:36AM I designed and sewed this up a Octagon floor. 5 ft each side. 12 foot across. 30" knee wall, one side with a 6ft peak with door. 10 foot mat height. all 1.1 oz silicon coated ripstop nylon, except stove jack. |

10/02/2012 05:21AM I'll bet that your wife was glad to be done sewing that one up! I'd have to imagine it was also a little tough incorporating a vertical door in a yurt style shelter as well. Lots of pieces. Nice shelter though. |

10/01/2012 10:21PM Dan, I have been real curious about that winter tent of yours since I saw it on a trip report. Looks really nice and I bet the light on the inside during a clear winter day is good. Is it Sil-Nylon? One of your own designs? Looks great. -Craig |

10/01/2012 09:30PM I burned off the oil on a new stove and the rolled stainless steel stove pipe. Had to run the hose on the grass so no grass fire. I also Elevated the stove on a platform so the water could flow under it. Everything worked well. Ready to go.
