08/13/2021 09:32AM I am planning a trip to Quetico soon. Is this treasure still out there to be located? |

05/08/2021 10:21PM The Quetico Quest Treasure has been moved several ties in recent years since our experience with it, but I understand the Quest continues. Someone will likely jump in here soon and give clues as to its current location. |

10/08/2014 09:14PMquote cowdoc: "My claim to all this fame.......I picked out the pink triangle rock. We probably had as much fun stashing it as you guys did finding it." Really added another dimension to the journey. Three of us were on the trip (trip report in process). Both JohnO and I were in on this, but LOWG, although an experienced tripper, wasn't a part of the BWCA family (that changed after we got back), so we let him do the actual retrieval. After he found the treasure, I think his first words were "this is so cool". :-) |

10/07/2014 05:56AM Phew, glad that baby is in safe hands. Thought a Sasquatch might have got it and then what? Did the pictures work out so it was easy to find and make sense? That was a fun time hiding that little prize, with three of my paddlin brothers. SunCatcher |

09/14/2014 10:28PMquote cowdoc: "Good job! Can't wait to hear about the next chapter. Was it a tad cool up in the Q?" Not as cold as we anticipated. It was damp too - no downpours, just every other day sprinkles. Brought out some early fall colors. JohnO promised a trip report shortly. Thanks for the holy grail search opportunity. We'll make sure it finds a suitable home next year in Quetico. |

08/17/2014 06:39AM Ron, Great job...I hope you had fun locating the "Holy Grail" :) Sort of something to look forward to, and a treasure hunt all in one. Fun reading all this stuff...you did GREAT SunCatcher |

08/16/2014 08:54PM I liked your Indiana Jones analogy, Old Fingers. Quite appropriate. At no time was anything said other than enjoy, restore, rehide. Wouldn't removing it from the park regularly be problematic, since health, job changes, family situations could keep someone from returning the next year? We are done with the treasure, but this needs to be clarified for future "Treasure Questers?" Eyedocron |
bojibob |
08/16/2014 11:43AM To be very clear: Your Mission is to recover said "Object" and return from the Quetico with it in your possession. You then must on your following trip return it to a location in Quetico and pass this great quest on to someone else. Accurate notes, photos, GPS etc etc are acceptable. If THEY fail to find.... YE must returneth to recover the "Object" |
OldFingers57 |
08/15/2014 08:39PM Very similiar to this to get the object in question. Indiana Jones |

08/14/2014 10:05PM We bless you with success and know you will do well with the recurring quest. It is now yours for discovery, enjoyment, and restoration for others. It is now yours for finding someone after you for continuing the Treasure Quest.. Eyedocron and crew |

08/14/2014 02:52PMquote johno: "quote Eyedocron: "AdamX is going after the treasured special item!" Really not that difficult of a quest. The hat you'll need for all of the canoeing. The bullwhip not so much. |

08/14/2014 12:43AM Eyedocron - I did get your two emails, but the two responses I sent you bounced back. Please email me the top secret instructions, along with decoder ring. Am confirming Sturgeon Olifaunt portage visit on or about Sep 8th. The mystery deepens... AdamX |

08/14/2014 12:16AM I was in Eyedocron's crew. Just to clarify, after finding the treasure, enjoying it, and restoring it to its former glory, we discussed what to do with it. We thought of moving it to a new location, but because of our planned route we felt the present location was an excellent choice for future treasure hunters. |

08/13/2014 05:06PM We recharged the item and are passing the coordinates on to another group for their appreciation. They can then leave it there or move this special treasure on to another location for even future rescue. That is our understanding of both the treasure's past and future. eyedocron and crew |

08/13/2014 04:39PM I don't find it strange at all that the "total message" was not delivered by Sunny. We all know how shy and reserved he is and it's tough to pry two words out of him. The mix up is totally understandable. We should have put a more outgoing, talkative person in charge of communicating the total intent, history and future plan for this valuable item. All is not lost though as long as the "batteries are recharged" and you pass along the coordinates for another group. Please pick someone who is more outgoing than Paul is to convey your intent for the future plans of said treasure. |

08/12/2014 08:27AMquote SunCatcher: "quote bojibob: "You left it there? What kind of a rescue is that? PAUL!!!!" I guess you should have been a little bit more specific on the RESCUE of the valuable item. |

02/02/2014 09:04PM Sorry to report that my usual canoeing associates have all reported no availability for this summer. I am not into solo trips, so, unless someone wants a Nym Splitrock trip end of July, looks like first missed year in 23 years. Sorry to pass on your Treasure. |

01/29/2014 05:40PM It is actually a very cool LITTLE item and is sort of a real treasure. It is well worth a couple minutes of time to find this little present and has some real value, for the adventurer on this trail. Seriously, it is a neat deal and it's not a joke. SunCatcher |

01/27/2014 09:49PM I have it on semi-good (but not completely unreliable) information that this is the "HEART OF THE QUETICO/SUPERIOR" Jewel, an enormous chunk of iron ore with a little copper and nickel mixed in. A Polymet executive will give you multiple nights with all his trophy wives for this nugget. I don't know how this will play out if a female finds the jewel but it is fun to think about. All questions about this north woods treasure hunt should be directed to kanoes at bwca.com |

01/27/2014 07:43PM I could wind up there either in late July or early September depending on where my trips take me. My plans are not definite right now but it is very possible that when we get down to planning routes one of the trips could take us through Olifaunt to Sturgeon. |
