I really love these. I use them as wind screens for my stove. But I also use them around the fire. If it is raining, I set them over the top to protect the fire. If it is really windy, I place them in the fire pit to protect the fire. i would not trip without them...

Absolutely! I have a couple MSR Whisperlites and they come with a flexible aluminum windscreen to go around the stove and keep the flame and heat where they're supposed to be. Something so simple, yet so effective.

MAngler, keep an eye on stove tank temperatures using a 442 and windscreen. It is easy to overheat the fuel tank!
That is the reason I prefer a remote tank stove, they are not pretty when over pressured!
My fav screen, looks like this. Have several in 2 sizes. Still use the aluminum sheet screens from MSR often.

Butthead has some good advice. Probably an unusual occurrence but it has happened and I would not want to be close when it does. For that reason I share his preference for remote canister. It also lowers the height of your pan.........less chance of that hot grease dumping hard and splashing far (like on that sandal shod foot)
I also am a fan of the wind screen he has linked to.
Mad Angler did you make your own or is it commercially available?
