I was out with my 10 year old daughter today and shot a bunch of rounds. She's so excited for her first deer hunt and I'm so excited to take her!

I was bow hunting 2 weekends ago and I told my 4 year old daughter that she could come with me for awhile on the 2nd day. I went out early and came back in to get her at about 10am. I guess her first words that morning when she woke up were "I get to go hunting today". She was so excited. She was a little bummed when i took her to my ground blind spot because she wanted to climb up into my tree stand with me.

She's only 4 so we lasted maybe 20 minutes in the blind before she got bored. The Sweet Tarts I brought with only held her attention for so long. I figure each year she'll make it a little longer and hopefully she'll be bow hunting with me before I know it.

My brother is a meteorologist on KSTP. He texted me letting me know that he wouldn't be surprised if the lakes in the BWCA weren't capped over by next week. Might change hunting plans a bit, at least I'll need to create a plan B
