Enjoyed the report and looks like a possible future route for me. I'm curious about one of the pics. It's near the end and shows a fireplace area looking out at a lake. There's a hat on the end of a canoe paddle. What lake is this on? Looks like a nice spot and has grass growing in the sitting area so not too overused.

Tom, that's the Badwater site. Down the rock face to the right about 75 yards is the landing area. Up about the same distance to the left is the tent area. It's a sprawling site you get a workout on. View is south-ish towards the area we had come from. Definitely one of the best parts of the park, IMO. Hope you go there one day! --Goose

Canoe42: "Where is that cabin on Quetico Lake? We have been to one on that lake, but it looked different."
Here's some marked up map images. If you find the opening into the bay, go thru it and hang a sharp right turn, land and get out. The old trail has grown over and you just have to look in the woods there near the point. Hope this helps.

arnesr: "Nice report, I enjoyed reading it and looking at your pictures.
Where is the large metal gear on the beach picture taken? "
That's on Beaverhouse. Popular large site on the south shore just before the river mouth and Portage to Quetico Lake. Great place. --Goose
