I saw the post about current forest fires.
We are heading into Quetico this Sunday (Nym Lake) and was wondering about a fire ban possibility. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

I’m headin’ in on Saturday, and with the rains that happened last night and the predictions for this weekend, I wouldn’t be too worried about a fire ban personally.

Quetico Provincial Park
9 hrs ·ago August 8 at 9:15PM

As of August 8th, we are currently NOT in a Restricted Fire Zone, and are still allowed to have campfires.

However, there are currently 7 wildfires burning in Quetico Provincial Park. Please consult with a park ranger when you pick up your park permit for up to date fire information, or call the park information line at 807-597-2735, as a re-route to your trip plan may be required. These fires can be unpredictable and can drastically change in size and direction of travel based on weather conditions. These fires are suspected to have ignited via lightning strike and at present are being monitored.

An interactive map with up to date fire conditions can found at: FIRES
