For those who have never been through the numbered lakes to Insula, it is generally quite easy.

My partner and I are brothers and have been going to the BWCA almost every year for over 40 years. Our focus is fishing, but we generally only keep what we will eat for one meal at a time. For example, last year we caught tons of "eatable fish", but kept none during the entire trip.

Our campsites are left without any trace when we leave. Great Outdoor ethics and those with good people skills are the kind of folks we are looking for. If you think of party people, that is not our cup of tea. When we travel, we don't make a mad, hasty dash through the lakes and portages. We usually double portage and take our time.

We have all the equipment to share for the base camp; kitchen, rainflys, ropes, barrels. Others joining won't need to bring any of that which will help lighten and divide the load.
