My buddy shot this spike on opening morning up north. He flew in from CA the night before..we hit the campsite at about 1030 pm. Deer was down by 8 the following day. Pretty stoked for him. We saw a few other deer and some wolves. Sadly the 2nd weekend the lake froze over...so now I have 2 stands on the other side of the lake I need to get out once ice is good enough to cross on. A good season so far!

Very cool!
Anyone else? I only made it out opening weekend. Saw a few small does hunting up by Crosby with some buddies. I coach hockey, so I couldn't make it out the second weekend. Waiting to get out a couple times on my property for muzzleloader. That's my favorite!

Sounds about right. I hunt 500 acres of private property up by Crosby. Great land. We use to have an 8 point or better rule. Shot a lot of big bucks. We use to plant food plots, and cameras everywhere. Then it just went downhill from there because we all grew up and had a family, and kids. No time for that anymore:)

I should have posted pics here instead of main forum! Shot this beast West of Eagle Bend 11-9-2018. My son's B-day! Walked out at 7:38 am Friday Morning. Biggest deer registered in Eagle Bend both weekends!

The deer walked 30 yds away and I shot it. Watched it drop about 40 yds into the woods. I warmed up real quick! Waited a few minutes and lowered my gun down the tree. Then another buck walked on the same trail! It walked up to my deer and gave it a sniff and walked off. I didn't want to be a game hog. (But my brother was pissed!)
