Wow, what an incredible experience to be able to have with family. One thing about writing the report years later is you only remember the really good or the really bad stuff :-) You've captured the really good.

I went last year with my wife and 2 of my daughters we had a blast! Just base camped on McAree I need to do a write up for that one. Want to try to go back every other year. My oldest daughter is starting to go to 2 weeks of summer camp at Foley in MN so I think I will try to tag on some time in Quetico before or after. Hope all is well!

Which camp out of Foley? Been toying with that exact concept..... Dropping off kids at a camp while I do a solo trip then drag them out the next week for the epic adventure you fondly recall from the 80s. Hope to do a family camp this summer would love to read the base camp on McAree report.

Its called Camp Foley we checked it out last year looks awesome! All of our cousins go so it will be a hoot for her she is 8.

Our daughter just started at Camp Foley... she loved it cant wait to go back. Couple more years and I will have all 3 girls there what a great experience I think for kids. Plus the addition of a Dad/kids quetico trip seems like a great experience for us all to have.

Looks like you guys had some excellent fishing! There was one exceptionally prehistoric looking lake trout that caught my attention. Thanks for the report!
