Well, they say "There's a sucker born every day," and I'd say they are fishing for that "Sucker?" I've seen $10 Feather Brand paddles listed on E-bay for hundreds of dollars. You never know, I guess people like that are waiting for "Suckers?"

I paid $800 for mine. It was in perfect condition. I know - it was an absolute steal. The majority of my boats weren't planned purchases. In addition to the Northwind, I have a Bell Rob Roy...also $800, a Necky Kayak $300.

I just check craigslist and FB marketplace occasionally, and when something pops up like that, I act on it immediately.

$3,500 is laughable

To put it in perspective, you can get a brand new Northwind 17 in Black Gold, delivered to your house from Piragis for less than that. And that's paying full retail.

Maybe the wife said he had to sell it and this way he can and buy a new one and still have money to spare...

I am going to buy it but, all my money is currently tied up. I am helping an East African Prince get his money out of a trust fund that his evil uncle controlled. Long complicated story but, I should be rolling in cash within a few weeks.

That is a steal!

I paid $1400 for my 2008 in excellent condition a few years ago. It also included two BB bent shaft paddles. I thought that was a decent deal.

I have one for sale for $3400, a relative bargain! Take a number and keep the line straight and orderly, please.

In all seriousness if it is aluminum trim, kevlar layup, and mint condition I would value it at $1500. I am basing that on $3,000.00 new with tax. You can certainly buy them cheaper if you look hard and long enough, but I believe half is a fair price.

Or maybe his wife said he had to sell it and this way because it won't sell he gets to say he tried, and keeps it. That's what I would do ;)

I bought the black/gold Northwind with wood trim shown used for $1900 and sold it about five years later for $2200. Mine was near perfect and was also a 2003. So I'd say the boat you are looking at is worth around $2K.

There's one on Craigslist right now, in Chisago, for $1,650. 2003 Bell Northwind, blackgold, scratched up a bit, but just in the gel coat. Wood trim. Good price.

Actually, I'm not interested in it. I just cruise craigslist to see what's there. I sold one in pristine condition (2002 model) two years ago for $2000. I just thought this was good for a hoot, knowing you can buy a new Northwind 17 for less.
