I’m planning on ordering a screen shelter from CCS, I can order a 12.5’ x 12.5’ shelter and that should be perfect for a group of four. Does anyone have experience specifically with the CCS screen shelter that they’d like to share? It’s a big investment to make but I’ve never heard a bad thing about any CCS products.

I've camped with friends that purchased a CCS shelter. Three of us and a dog. Great gear. We had some serious mosquitos (enough one night to turn the sides of the shelter into a shimmering mass) and were able to stay up into the night (the dash to tents was perilous however). Plenty of room to roam. They opted for mosquito mesh rather than no-see-um netting to encourage air movement in hot weather. Again, great gear.

I own a CCL Lean shelter with bug netting. The netting is very heavy and it's not noseeum netting; it's much heavier and good for larger insects like mosquitos and black flies. Little insects (gnats) will get through.

You should also check out the Nemo Bugout Shelter It's a little lighter and the netting effective for smaller insects too.

Sometimes a perfect evening is just one bug tarp away. I just ordered a 12.5' in 1.1oz green, couldn't put it off another year.

I considered a Nemo for a lot less dough but nothing beats CCS quality and I fully expect to be using this shelter for decades to come. As much as like finding new gear, I only want to spring for one of these! Dan and company have my business for life.

I’ve arrived at the same conclusion as you - just haven’t decided on the color yet. I considered the Bugout, but I like the CCS design much better. I’ll be fortunate to be able to use it for just one more decade, but someone will be using it after I get too old, even if it’s not me.

Just got to locate those BWCA campsites that can accommodate a 12.5 x 12.5 screen tent + tents + folks maneuverings within site.
Love the color of the one displayed on CCS site. Something about green + blue bottom trim that is appealing to the eye.

WE got the bigger version. Don't recall the dimensions.

It was an absolute luxury- especially on rainy days.

Played a lot of poker and kept the group entertained during heavy rain and mosquito late nights.

Expensive but amazing quality. Total game changer with large groups.
