I sawed up a fallen branch in the yard and added it to my winter camping woodpile. Its a beautiful summer morning in the UP. And I'm dreaming of winter camping.

Something is wrong with me.

Usually by July when it is hot and humid I start wishing for Fall if not Winter. Just not a fan of Minnesota summers.

The Winter Camping Symposium is just around the corner. Seventy four days and counting.

I've donated more blood to mosquitos and biting flies this summer than the Red Cross would say is allowable in a 90 day period. I've been thinking of starting a wood pile specifically for this winter too, but will wait until it an be done without any further donations.

I really enjoyed my first WCS last year, even though it rained a bit. I was able to attend some sessions and sell several items at the gear swap. I wished there was a little more guidance for first-timers regarding event timing, locations, directions, beer-drinking social hours, etc. I'm not sure if I can make it this year.

I may not be remembering correctly, but they posted the schedule on their website and urged people to check the schedule with their smart phones. In years past, they published a schedule on paper.
