I am in a wedding this weekend, but I can walk out my back door and hunt anytime I want (wife and kids permitting:). I have not even got my trail cams out yet, but I have 5 stands set up. Have seen a few big boys walking through the back yard around dusk.
I won't be out for the first time until the first weekend in October. Its gotten to be tradition that the last 2 weeks of September are for me to work on my project list and then once October rolls around I hit the woods.
Right now I'm hunting Oct 5-6, 11-13, maybe 17-20 and again Nov 1-3. I'm lucky to have access to my aunt and uncles land. I can bring my kids and they hang out with all the family while I hunt so I can hunt more without having to be away from them. My wife can then come and join us or stay home and enjoy some down time for herself. Its sort of the opposite of most guys hunting seasons. I spend more time with the kids and my wife gets time off versus the other way around. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
