Thanks for sharing your trip. It appears you had a good time and enjoyed the paddle. I have not got a September trip in yet, missed it by one day, but looking forward to one some day. Do you think you will do more solo trips? There are lots of resources on this site, including the solo trip group. I have learned much from this group and hope to have another great solo next spring.

I enjoyed the report a lot, thanks! I did my first solo in the same area and would like to go back. There are a lot of route choices from the Baker entry.

Nice write up, thank you for sharing. "Every year I consider a bear barrel." I used a bear vault 500 for years. Been using Ursacks the last couple years and could not be happier!

Thanks for all the replies and words of encouragement. I will definitely do another solo in the future. I have been a member of the site for several years, but this is my first posting.

Nice trip report and thanks for sharing your pictures and adventure. Solo trips can be lonely but I enjoy the solitude and just seeing everything on my trips. I found writing a journal, reading and just doing camp chores a helpful thing to do when lonely.

Love the comment about keeping the hatchet closeby cuz squirrel was giving you the stink-eye. LOL

Thanks, I enjoyed your trip and pictures. I was in the Baker entry the week before and exited the day before you entered. Most of the area was new to me. Ursack or bear canister is a lot simpler.

I use the lacrosse ball trick when working on trees, but I use a lacrosse stick to launch the ball. Thanks for the report well written. I use a barrel by"Backpackers Cache" it's probably 14"high x9"wide? But it holds plenty
