We don’t have wild boar and typically don’t have bear. It would be highly unlikely (although not impossible). I’ve heard of one bear about 100 miles away. It’s a small skull, about the size of my palm. My first thought was coyote?? But when I google images of coyote skull, it doesn’t look quite right.

Then it's a raccoon. I thought it looked bigger than that compared to the rails of your pickup bed, but if you say it's the size of the palm of your hand, then yes, raccoon. Somewhat related to bears so their skulls look similar.

It's raccoon. A bear skull would have more of a crest on the back of the skull and would have a little more "gap" behind the canines. The canines would also follow the curve of the skull more whereas these canines are a bit more perpendicular to the skull (for lack of a better description).

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate it. I knew someone or multiple someones on this board could tell me.
Funny story on how I found it. I was hiking and had to go pee (can I say that on the internet?). I found a dead tree to crouch behind. When I went to stand up, I looked down and the skull was right below me, upside down! So, it kind of looked like human teeth staring up at me! I quickly saw the rest of the skull, but for a moment I was like, "uh oh".
Cool find!

Looks like it was DNR-DNI to me.
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

RTurner: Maybe he's only mostly dead"
If he were fully dead "all you can do is go through his pockets and look for loose change"
Never criticize someone until you walk a mile in their shoes....by then you'll be a mile away and they will be shoeless!

There’s my bear... I was walking through the woods thinking why don’t we ever find bones or anything... and poof there it was.
I too tried cpr... iv is beyond my abilities."
Interesting juxtaposition of the "Good Samaritin" in front of some rifle ammunition. ;)
I am jealous of your bear skull. The best I have found is that of a coyote and my wife will not let it into the house.
