Nice report. Some years ago a friend caught a 29lb northern on Vernon. The Misqua hills are fun to see in the fall.

sounds like a good family trip. Last time I was at Bower Trout the landing was a mudhole ;)

Thanks for posting this report. The creeks/waterfall look great for exploring.

T B,

I was the guy on the middle campsite. Same guy who was catching fish near your campsite. I tried not to park there too long.

I was cleaning a fish at the really small island (you couldn't see me since the big island was in between you and me) in the east bay when i saw the moose swimming toward the peninsula. Then he stood on the point of the peninsula staring at me for minute. He got back in the water and swam directly at me. He got close enough that i decided to get out of there, and when I moved to get in my canoe, he headed for shore and disappeared up the bank.

If I would have known it was you I might have asked for an autograph. I'm a big fan of your trip reports.

Must've been quite the experience! I hope the 'dull roar' coming from our camp didnt ruin your wilderness experience. Thanks for the kind words.

I replied on PP too, but this is really cool to see this trip report from warmer months. I went through there in October in the snow. We stopped for lunch at that Vernon site. I absolutely love that area!

As always it is a pleasure to read your trip reports. I am going to have to get this on my trip list in the future, perhaps this fall. Thank you for sharing! Happy Paddling!!!
