Bobbwca and I would like to invite you all to what will be the final Rockford Wing Night hosted at the Lithuanian Park. Unfortunately, the Lithuanian Club needs to sell the park, so this will be the last opportunity for us to gather at this amazing place, home to both the Rockford Wing Night (could this be the 7th annual?) and the Kishwaukee Paddlefest.

We're gonna do it earlier this year, the weekend of April 24th.

Might mention the park can't be seen from the street. It's down what looks like a private drive, house and buildings right, then more building left, and onto a dirt/gravel road to the park.

On the areial map I may have added an extra turn but at that point your there. I'll be there and likely Sam has a league or tournament nearby.

George, I think I can actually make it this year. Are you thinking Saturday & Sunday? Is there camping available?

there has been camping in the past Mike. Big grassy field to set up tents. Outhouse there and I believe a water spigot? Cement pad with bunch of picnic tables, fire pit.

April and I are in. Maybe a fish fry is in order.

Mike, plenty of camping space, both Friday and Saturday nights. Be good to finally meet you, im sure you’ve got some great stories.

Bring a canoe, we always do a trip down the Kish on Saturday if the water’s not too high.

Every year there's always a calendar conflict and this time around it's the same story. Man... I have to see if I can chisel out some time to go for Saturday night.

What time are you paddling on Saturday? Can you come out for just the day?

We usually paddle late morning, somewhere in the 10-noon timeframe. Usually 11-ish. About a 2 hour paddle from Baumann Park in Cherry Valley to Lithuanian Park.

I might be able to make it out for the Saturday paddle and hangout. My wife is travelling for business the week prior and lots of kids activities. All that being said, I will try my best to make it there!

Lets do this , it is maybe the last one at the park. Great time and fish fry and pot luck dinner. Great conversation and a good time had by all. Come on Badgers, Hoosiers, and everyone from Illinois and maybe Tony from Minnasooota.

Those that have some Dicecup wares, let's have a toast to his memory during the potluck. He was a big part of the web site, and the only guy I know that got a tattoo of the flying moose on his arm!

I'm not sure I can make it this year. I might have a conflict with that last weekend in April I was planning on the first week of May and had taken that weekend off. it will be a shame because I've made it to every other one.

Tony, we’re gonna have to take this thing one day at a time. Still a possibility, but we just need to see how things play out the next few weeks.

All of my conflicts are suddenly now gone... the local BSA council has forbade any kind of meetings or activities thru the month of April.....

My conflict has went away, also. I had been summoned to federal jury duty for basically the month of April. This would have meant working weekends to keep up.
Will keep the weekend open just in case.

Hate to say it, but the responsible thing to do is to cancel this year’s Rockford Wing Night campout. Too many people traveling, too much risk of spreading this damn virus. We’ll figure out a venue for next year. Will miss you all dearly, it’s definitely been a high point for my annual outdoor activity calendar over the past several years.

It is the right thing to do, George. I have been to all of them, I believe. April and I will miss you all, but there is always next year. Everyone stay safe .
