Does anyone know if tumplines have always been leather and canvas or is that a recent change?

Thanks. I just bought a monarch brand #18 it need lots of cleaning and a tumpline. I don’t know how old it is but I do leather work, so I guess it’ll get an all leather one then.

Some are canvas depending on the model of Duluth you buy. I had a canvas one on the #3 I used to own. My CCS tump is nylon.

My old #4 came with a leather and canvas tump. I got it in about 1990.

I have three 1980 vintage packs, and they all have leather straps with canvas head pad.
