Yes they do, you'll just have to scan the 7 or so channels to see which one comes in best in that area. I've used mine from about as far NW as you can get in the park to about as far SE and anywhere along the border and it's worked.

We have taken one for the past several years. Always worked well , even with rough weather in the area. I would suggest you get one before you go, so you can listen and sort out how the weather is presented. It has its own odd cadence and pattern.

Just be sure you don’t choose the weather station from Lake Superior area, totally different weather than in Ely. Speaking of Ely, tune in to WELY AM on a radio and get Weather forecasts too.

Mad_Angler: "Most walkie talkies have a weather radio function. We always bring one. It really helps to plan the next day or two knowing what weather to expect."
Our pair of Midlands radios has the weather function. We mostly just use one at night before bed to see what the forecast is for the next day or two. We do have the pair in case we think we're going to split up and still want a chance to communicate for some reason.
And yes, when they do the "conditions around the area" part of the loop, GM is always 20 degrees cooler than anywhere else so we ignore that one :)
