Checking to see if anyone has info about the health of the trees around the campsites on the SW end of Seagull or in Alpine after the fires that recently went through that area a few years ago. We will have a party of four who all plan to hang, and want to make sure there will be places to do so on those lakes as we past through. Thanks!

hello Bmoore
Seagull and Alpine got hit hard during the Seagull lake fires a few years back. The forest service did a good job of trying to save the campsite so many, if not most, of them still have good trees for hanging tents and food barrels.

4 hammock tents will be a bit of a challenge, but I think you will be fine on Seagull. Alpine will be more of a challenge due to that lake getting hit very hard during the fire.

If you are passing through going toward Ogish Lake the fire line is about halfway down Ogish. You can easily go from Ep 54 (Seagull) and be halfway down Ogish in a single day.
