Today we said goodbye to our trusty 1963 Alumacraft motorboat. I was forced to sell our big ol fiberglass lunker a few years ago, and then was almost handed this old hull that changed my life when I started researching small and limited HP lakes where we could fish. Someone recommended the gunflint trail and the addiction set in after the first visit to Hungry Jack. Took us to some great spots on sag, gunflint, bearskin, Clearwater, and more. Was kind of bittersweet watching her being towed away. Climbing up into the βnewβ boat β a 2008 Alumacraft Fisherman 160 with 25hp Yamaha β makes it more sweet than bitter. Lots more memories to be made in this one!

There are great joys in boating and your new boat will supply many of them as well. Aren't you glad there's still a bunch of summer (and boating season) left? :)
"Keep close to Nature's heart, yourself; and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." ~ John Muir

Thanks guys!
The Yamaha is actually a two-stroke, so I still get to smell the smells when I first start her up :)
Still getting electronics fully rigged up and stuff. Figured out how the livewell and bow-mount trolling motor worked last night. I don't have a pic of the full interior right now, but it's a pretty straight-forward and open layout. 3 pedestal seats, all removable. Bow casting area with storage under for battery etc. 7-ft Rod locker in the center of the main floor. Small livewell on the port side in the back. That's pretty much it, very simple but perfect for me! Fishing solo with just the single tiller seat in is incredible, just so much room to move around. I'm a happy camper.
Steve I'll definitely take you up on that. Look for a text in the next couple weeks.
