Am planning a tattoo in a couple months based off a picture I took on our BWCA trip earlier this month.

Anyone else have BWCA ink? Let's see it!

Mitch, aka DiceCupMaker (RIP) had the site's logo tattooed on an arm. That's dedication.

Care to share the picture you're using as reference? I don't have any but have a few friends with some including a cool pine forest upper arm one

I wouldn’t mind a tatt of this.

I have enough scars to remind me of things.

Let alone to have someone poke needles into me.

This is not the greatest pic, a bit blurry. But there is a little canoer portaging in this tat, though he might be hard to make out. I got this in NYC in 1994 before tattooing was legalized following a big hepatitis problem in the 70s...I'm such a rebel. The canoer was taken from a picture in Cache Lake Country, my favorite book about the northland.

I agree, no tattoos for me.

I was in the navy over 50 yrs ago and I still remember many guys who got tattoos and soon after regretted it. Maybe that is why the VA pioneered the use of lasers for tattoo removal (so I heard). No tattoos for me.

My daughter is planning a tattoo of a very thin compass arrow with an N for north along her forearm, with a canoe below and a paddle above the compass line. She’s been drawing it on her arm after she showers for months now, waiting for tattoo places to feel safe again.

I’ll probably get something related eventually, but the right design hasn’t come to me yet.

Not BWCA related, but outdoorsy/personal. After years of talking about a tattoo, I finally got one after my mom passed away unexpectedly – lavender and pine are just two things that make me think of her.

I'd like to do an Osprey next, representing fishing and the outdoors as well.

Okay, that tattoo is just gorgeous.

There is no way anyone could regret that!

As one who has no tattoos, I'm curious of the cost of a tattoo like the ones shown above. Certainly don't feel obligated, but would anyone care to share what theirs cost?

I think mine was $50, mid-90s, in New York City.

I'll lend you the money for a real boss tat, Pete. You should do it. All the cool kids are.

Mike, nary a tat will grace my body. Not that I don't think the occasional tattoo looks cool. It's just not my deal. I have four kids - two girls and two boys. My two beautiful daughters are the ones with tats. Thankfully, from this Dad's perspective, neither has anything large or ostentatious.

Prospector, sweat ink. Did you get that ink to commemorate your recent completion of the KW Challenge?

Sure did, note the paddle. I already signed on for next year, too.

Love the artwork. Probably my favorite BWCA related tattoo that I've seen.

Dad was in the Navy through three wars and never felt the need for one. My uncle had a small one on his bicep with a ladies name and a heart and it wasn't aunt Mary's name either. That was brought up more than a few times.

I considered getting a full forehead scene of a group voyageurs in a birch bark canoe, running a shallow rapid.................
Then I thought, "Nah, I ain't that stupid".

I have no concern whatsoever with an adult getting whatever tattoo & as many tattoos as they want. Personally, I have zero interest; just not my thing, voyageur tattoo was a jest............

Awesome Josh! That’s giving me the itch for a BWCA related tattoo!
