Just got back from a solo trip and thought I would post my recipe for making four good size biscuits.

1&1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1&1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1&1/2 Tbls powdered milk
3 Tbls "squeeze margarine"
1/2 cup water

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and powdered milk in a quart freezer bag. When ready to bake, add margarine and water. Knead the bag until the ingredients are well mixed. It should have a firm texture. Take dough from bag and form a square, then quarter. Place on a pan or sheet and bake in a reflector oven until well browned. Works well with jam or as sandwich stock.

This is a reflector oven that I designed and built for backpacking. It measures 16x10x12 inch when put together, measures 16x10x 3/32nds inch when stored (the skewers are a bit larger at 18x 3/16 x 1/16th) and weighs just at 1 pound. It consists of 5 aluminum pieces held together by hitch pins and 2 stainless steel skewers. I built it over a year ago, used it quite a few times and have been surprised at how well it has held up considering how light it is.

I've done some good baking in it.
