I remember "hearing"/reading on this site about a company who makes great canoe trip foods. I think it was not only a Minnesota company but it was a northern Minnesota company maybe?

Anyone help me with the company name please?

Yes! That is it. Just looked it up & somethings look tasty. But also see they are closed November & December. Hope they plan on re-starting their foods so I can try some out. Lots of single & 2 person servings. I really need 2-4 but .....

Has anyone tried stuff from PackIt - from Austin Texas? As I was trying to find a company earlier, that one came up & looks good too.

Looking for ingredients of packaged meals?

Lots of ingredient suppliers out there. North Bay , Hoosier Hill Farms are 2 I keep using.

If full packaged meals Camp Chow, which is the Trail Center brand (Gunflint Trail) is my go to.

Over the years I have found that not each company does everything well. Packet-It Gourmet has a few things that I like, Mountain House has a few items that I like, and Cache Lake has a few things I like. Over the years I have kept a record of what I/we have tried and assigned a rating to each item. We usually buy a few new items each year and try them at home before we go. If we like them we buy more for the trip. We also plan our meals by our travel style. For the mornings that we need to get going quickly it may be MH Granola with Blueberries or MH Biscuits & Gravy. For layover days it may be omelettes, hashbrowns and bagels, or pancakes & bacon, or pan-baked biscuits with sausage gravy. Pack-It gourmet excels at lunch items like shelf stable sausage and cheese, condiments, and cold-soak items that don't need heat. We just add water before we start out for the day and it's ready whenever we get hungry.

Tried their veggie stuff and it's all good tasting. sidenote: I added Cajun seasoning to 'em. Force of habit.

Lynn, they are closed but Sarah is around as she likes right there at Trail Center.
GNO used their food exclusively for a few summers. It’s quite filling and tasty.
You can email sarah and she’ll get back to you.
